The GANT weekly reload gives readers a look back upon the most noteworthy stories of their work week.  It contains the big headlines, as well as a few stories you might have missed. It might even include a story or two of the lighter side.

The GANT reload will be posted each weekend for your perusal. For most part, the reload will be filled with local headlines, but every now and again, a state, world or national story will make the list.

PHILIPSBURG – The fate of a local correctional facility is now in jeopardy after a recent announcement by the U.S. Department of Justice, which plans to stop using private prisons.

BROCKPORT – A Brockport man, Keith S. Bennett, 45, has been charged with criminal attempt/homicide after a shooting incident Tuesday night on Cross Road in Brockport, the state police at Ridgway reported this afternoon.

Man Accused of Selling Heroin in DuBois

DUBOIS – A York man has been charged with both bringing heroin to the area and selling it here.

Nelfry German Almanzar, 25, 121 E. South St., York, allegedly sold heroin to a confidential informant on Jan. 20 at a DuBois residence, according to court documents.

Allport Woman Jailed for 2013 Death of Toddler Girl

KYLERTOWN – An Allport woman has been arrested for the death of a two-year-old toddler girl in 2013, according to court documents filed through the office of Magisterial District Judge Jerome Nevling.
