CLEARFIELD – A DuBois man accused of taking photos of an underage girl pleaded guilty Thursday in Clearfield County Court.

Jarrod Morgan Gesin, 37, pleaded guilty before President Judge Fredric J. Ammerman to felony counts of sexual abuse of children-knowingly photographing children, sexual abuse of children-possession of child pornography, and misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors and indecent assault.

He was sentenced to a total of 30 months to five years in state prison. He was ordered to have no contact with any female under the age of 18, with the exception of his biological children. Contact with his children will be done in agreement with his custody order.

Assistant District Attorney Ryan Dobo noted that Gesin did have a Megan’s Law assessment, and he was found not to be a sexually violent predator. However, because of the charges, he will still have to register his address with law enforcement.

The charges stem from an incident Feb. 15, 2015 in DuBois. According to the affidavit of probable cause, Gesin was babysitting the victim, a 14-year-old girl. As they were on the couch watching television, Gesin brought up the topic of pornography, asking if she had ever watched any porn.

She told him she had watched some. He then accessed a porn site on his cell phone that portrayed men and women involved in sexual acts and showed it to the girl. She told police he was watching the videos while she tried to watch the movie on TV. Gesin also showed her images on his phone of his “online girlfriend” that depicted nudity.

Gesin next started to discuss the teen’s breasts and then inappropriately touched her. She agreed that he could take a photo of her. Gesin also exposed himself to the girl and asked her to pull down her underwear.

Shortly after this, he received a text telling him an adult was on her way to the home. Gesin then told the teen to go upstairs to bed.

When Gesin was interviewed by police, he admitted to looking at pornographic Web sites while at the house, but said he stopped when the girl came downstairs. He said she must have seen the screen to know what he was looking at. He denied taking any naked photos of the girl.

Police executed a search warrant on the phone where they found a photo depicting a female’s breasts. This photo was taken at the time the girl claimed Gesin had taken a photo of her.  When she saw this photo, she immediately identified it as being a photo of her.
