CLEARFIELD – Katie Penoyer, commercial banking officer of CNB Bank, was recognized for achieving honor student status from the Pennsylvania Bankers Association (PA Bankers) School of Commercial Lending at the PA Bankers Group 6 meeting held on April 13 at The Calvin House in Duncansville.

Honor students are selected for outstanding work during school and based upon results of a post examination.

Penoyer has served the banking industry for 12 years.  She joined CNB Bank as a teller in June of 2004 and has since held the positions of universal associate, business services associate and business services specialist. She currently serves as commercial banking officer.

She is responsible for the overall management of the bank’s treasury operations as well as the implementation of treasury management products and services.  She also works closely with business development officers and staff from 41 branch offices of CNB Bank, ERIEBANK and FCBank to provide business-related solutions.

A native of Clearfield, Penoyer graduated from Clearfield Area High School in 1999 before earning her Bachelor’s degree at Bucknell University in political science/philosophy in 2003.

In January of 2015, she earned the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation from the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP).  The CTP designation is awarded to individuals who demonstrate the highest level of expertise and distinction in treasury management.

“Katie’s recognition as an honor student is a direct result of her hard work and dedication,” said Greg Dixon, CNB market executive.  “It is through this same hard work and dedication that Katie is able to provide an excellent customer experience every day.”

Penoyer currently resides in Clearfield with her husband, Bradley, and three children, Benjamin, Addison and Avanelle.  She attends Hyde Wesleyan Church.

She lends her time and talents through involvement with the Chamber of Commerce of Clearfield board of directors. She has also served as past president for the Clearfield Revitalization Corp.

The PA Bankers School of Commercial Lending supports the business development and leadership skills of experienced and potential commercial lenders.

Students studied how the economy drives the commercial lending business, business development calling, negotiation skills, analyzing financial statements, presenting to the institution’s loan committee and loan workouts.
