Brazil’s women are out of the Olympic football tournament after a nerve-shredding penalty shootout defeat to Sweden in Tuesday’s semifinal.
With the match 0-0 after extra time, it was Sweden’s Lisa Dahlkvist who scored the spot kick which sent the hosts into the bronze medal match.
Both Andressa and Cristiane missed penalties for Brazil as the shootout finished 4-3.
Sweden will play Canada or Germany in Saturday’s final.
