Laura Trott retains omnium gold, makes British Olympic history

It’s one thing to win Olympic gold — it’s another to completely crush your opposition.

For Laura Trott, it’s par for the course. The cyclist won the fourth gold of her career after successfully defending her women’s omnium title at Rio 2016 Tuesday, and in doing so became the most successful British female Olympian of all time.

Trott, who helped the British women’s team win the team pursuit at the weekend, also won two golds in London four years ago.
