The State College Spikes were stymied for much of Saturday night’s game, and a late flurry was not enough as the Staten Island Yankees took a 5-3 decision at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.State College still holds the best record in the New York-Penn League, and saw its Pinckney Division lead only trimmed to six games after Williamsport was rained out at Mahoning Valley.
