Kenneth R. Gilbert, 87, of DuBois and formerly of Falls Creek, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2016 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born July 20, 1929, he was the son of the late Amos and Sarah (McClusky) Gilbert.
Mr. Gilbert was a veteran of the U.S. Army who had served in the Korean War.
On Feb. 14, 1954, he married Jean L. (Weible) Gilbert. She survives.
He retired from the Benjamin Coal Co. as a heavy equipment operator after many years of service.
He was a member of the Reynoldsville Gospel Center. He enjoyed going to his camp.
He is survived by two sons, Kenneth R. Gilbert Jr. of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., and Edwin D. Gilbert and his wife, Peggy of DuBois, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters and a grandson, Justin C. Gilbert.
There will be no public visitation.
A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday from Lakelawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville. Burial will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park.
