From secret girlfriends to not-so-secret sex, “The Bachelorette” does not disappoint when it comes to over-the-top moments.
As the world waits for JoJo Fletcher to hand out her final rose on Monday’s season 12 finale, here’s a look back at some of the best “Bachelorette” moments of all time.
What happens in the Fantasy Suite doesn’t always stay in the Fantasy Suite.
Andi Dorfman’s season 10 of “The Bachelorette” was filled with the usual “most dramatic episode” hyperbole, but when runner up Nick Viall told the world that he and Dorfman were intimate — the night before she invited Josh Murray into her fantasy suite — the drama was legit. “If you weren’t in love with me, why did you make love with me,” Viall asked Dorfman. Cue the collective jaw drop.
That time Rego forgot to mention he had a girlfriend.
Ali Fedotowsky’s quest for love with Justin Rego on season 6 seemed promising, until Rego confessed he had a girlfriend back home. When Fedotowsky confronted him, Rego took off hobbling into some bushes. Awkward.
When you don’t have anything nice to say … keep your mouth shut!
Contestant Bentley Williams had a foot-in-mouth moment on nearly every episode of season 7. One of those moments? The time Williams said he’d “…literally rather be like, swimming in pee than trying to plan a wedding with [Ashley Hebert]. I’m not thinking like, oh my gosh, this is the girl of my dreams.” Um…did Williams not realize there were cameras everywhere?
Dropping F-bombs southern belle style
When contestant Kalon McMahon called Emily Maynard’s daughter “baggage,” the season 8 “Bachelorette” let the profanity fly. “That is my heart and soul and for anyone to say that’s baggage does not deserve to be on any date with me,” Maynard said. “Had you asked me about Ricky, you would see that she’s the farthest thing from baggage and anyone with the tiniest heart could see that. It makes me sad for you, not for me. Get the f**k out!” (McMahon clearly didn’t get a rose.)
Breaking up is hard to do. No, seriously, it’s hard.
“Bachelorette” Desiree Hartstock found herself in total disbelief when Brooks Forester told her during the season 9 finale that he just wasn’t that into her. It took Forester almost the entire episode to break up with Hartstock before he finally bowed out of the competition. Bye, bye.
