State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an incident of theft by unlawful taking that occurred Friday on Union Street in Ramey Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly took a large, white flower pot with a plant in it that was next to the victim’s porch. - State police received a report about an incident of theft, fraud and forgery that occurred April 1, 2011 on Deer Creek Road in Morris Township. During the incident, an Elmira, NY couple allegedly used the victim’s personal information to obtain a loan without the victim’s consent or knowledge. The victim was deceived of $708, state police said, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
- State police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred sometime between July 16 and Saturday at the Bradford Cemetery in Bradford Township. Further, the victim had placed a metal saddle with flowers on top of a headstone and someone allegedly removed it. - State police received a report about an incident of theft from a motor vehicle that occurred sometime Friday or Saturday on Kate Street in Osceola Mills Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly entered the victim’s vehicle and removed approximately four to five CDs and a tan change purse containing $6 in loose change. - State police have a chainsaw that was found Sunday along Pardee and Empire roads near the Boggs Coal Yard in Morris Township. The owner is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police investigated a DUI-related crash Friday on Route 322 west just west of Interstate 99 south in Worth Township. Further, a vehicle operated by a Tyrone man was traveling west at a high rate of speed; the man lost control and struck a guiderail off of the north berm. His vehicle traveled back onto the roadway while spinning clockwise for one rotation before striking the guiderail again and coming to a final rest. Upon investigation state police determined the man was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. Charges were filed and he was lodged in the Centre County Jail.
- State police received a report about a simple assault that occurred July 26-27 on Sunnyside Hollow Road in Worth Township. During the incident, a Port Matilda man allegedly engaged in a verbal altercation that turned physical with the victim. He picked up a chair and threw it at the victim, which caused swelling to her forearm; he also caused bruising to the victim’s arm during a previous dispute, state police said. State police took the man into custody and he was lodged in the Centre County Prison.
State police at Punxsutawney
- On Thursday state police charged Steven J. Williams, 48, of Brookville with indirect criminal contempt for allegedly violating a Protection from Abuse order.
- State police investigated an incident involving a prohibitive offensive weapon Friday on Route 36 approximately half-mile north of Newburg Borough. Further, a Claysburg man was stopped for speeding and found to be driving on a suspended license. He was also allegedly found in possession of brass knuckles. Charges are currently pending at this time.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about a burglary/theft that occurred Saturday at a Ridgway Township residence. During the incident, someone allegedly entered a building behind the victim’s residence and removed cash. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- State police received a report about an incident of retail theft that occurred Friday at the Wal-Mart store in Fox Township. During the incident, a St. Marys man allegedly took several items, which were valued at $39.84, without paying for them. He was cited through the district court for the incident.
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime between July 25 and Sunday on Shaver Road in Horton Township. During the incident, someone allegedly caused damage to the victim’s property. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Ridgway at 814-776-6136.
Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to assist the Clearfield Borough Fire Department with an automatic fire alarm at a local business. It was a false alarm, police said.
- Police responded to East Walnut Street for drug paraphernalia that was found on the roadway.
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment at Lower Witmer Park. Further, police advised those involved to stop their actions or they would be arrested.
- Police received numerous parking complaints in the area of West Side. Further, police advised individuals that street parking is open to the public and anyone can park there.
- Police responded to the area of Nichols Street for a loose dog. The dog was caught and taken to the SPCA, police said.
- Police noticed a male who was staggering while walking on the roadway. He was allegedly found to be intoxicated and cited for public drunkenness.
- Police stopped a vehicle for a minor traffic violation and allegedly found that the driver was under the influence. Police subsequently arrested the driver for DUI.
- Police received a complaint about suspicious individuals in East End. Further, police made contact with them, and they were found playing a game.
- Police assisted Lawrence Township police with attempting to locate a male who has warrants for his arrest.

- Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Chester and Linden streets.
- Police received two reports about IRS phone scams.
- Police received a report about an alleged theft from a residence.
- Police received a report about a dog that was inside of a vehicle at Wal-Mart.
- Police received a report about a suspicious person at Sapp Bros.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of criminal mischief at a residence on Flegal Road.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of trespassing at a business on South Second Street.
- Police received a report about an unauthorized use of a credit card.
- Police received a report about an unauthorized use of a Chevy Camaro.
- Police responded to a vehicle accident along the Clearfield-Shawville Highway and Cresswood Drive.
