The GANT weekly reload gives readers a look back upon the most noteworthy stories of their work week.  It contains the big headlines, as well as a few stories you might have missed. It might even include a story or two of the lighter side.

The GANT reload will be posted each weekend for your perusal. For most part, the reload will be filled with local headlines, but every now and again, a state, world or national story will make the list.

Line-up Announced for Clearfield Fireman’s Parade

CLEARFIELD – The line-up has been announced for the Clearfield County Fair Fireman’s Parade. It will step off at 6 p.m. Aug. 1.

Steering Committee of Save Clearfield Hospital Sends Letter to Governor

CLEARFIELD – The Steering Committee of Save Clearfield Hospital recently sent a letter to Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf.

The letter was released by the committee to keep other concerned citizens aware of its efforts and to solicit feedback.

State Police Investigating Attempted Kidnapping Incident in Philipsburg

PHILIPSBURG – State police at Philipsburg have initiated an investigation into an attempted kidnapping that occurred late Sunday night in the 500 block of East Pine Street in Philipsburg Borough.

School Board Approves Bid for Maintenance Garage, Fieldhouse Roofing Project

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Area School Board of Directors approved the lowest bid for the construction of a maintenance garage at its combined committee and board meeting on Monday night.

CLEARFIELD – A recent court ruling could mean that four Clearfield County teenagers convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole will be eligible for release.

Commissioners Donate $10K to Clearfield Co. Fair

CLEARFIELD – On Tuesday the Clearfield County Commissioners approved making a $10,000 donation to the 156th Clearfield County Fair from its general fund budget. The fair will be held Aug. 31-Aug. 6.

State Police Report Double-Fatal Collision in Westover

WESTOVER – Two people died from injuries sustained when two vehicles collided Tuesday on South Main Street in Westover Borough, reported the state police at Punxsutawney this morning.

CNB Bank to Open New Branch in Blair County

DUNCANSVILLE – CNB Bank is breaking ground on its first full-service office in the Blair County region.  An official groundbreaking ceremony was held Tuesday, and the new office will be located at 106 Lamppost Ln., in Duncansville, across from Convention Center Boulevard.

CLEARFIELD – A Houtzdale man convicted of stealing a vehicle from Jacob George Ford was given a lengthy state prison sentence during sentencing court Tuesday.
