WESTOVER – Two people died from injuries sustained when two vehicles collided Tuesday on South Main Street in Westover Borough, reported the state police at Punxsutawney this morning.
James A. Wolf, 61, of Largo, Fla., and a 16-year-old Somerset male died from injuries they sustained in the collision. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.
According to state police, both vehicles were traveling on South Main Street. Wolf was traveling northbound in his vehicle while Ernest Lee Miller Jr., 36, of Irvona was traveling southbound in his vehicle
State police said that Wolf lost control of his vehicle, which exited the east berm of the roadway. He re-entered the roadway, crossed the northbound lane and entered into the path of the Miller vehicle.
The front of the Miller vehicle subsequently impacted the passenger’s side of the Wolf vehicle in the southbound lane. Both Wolf and his teen passenger were ejected from their vehicle, state police said.
Miller sustained minor injuries and was transported from the scene by ambulance for treatment. He was wearing his seatbelt. Neither Wolf nor the teen was wearing their seatbelt at the time of the collision, according to state police.
