State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an incident of theft by deception that occurred sometime between July 6 and July 12 on the Philipsburg-Bigler Highway in Bradford Township. During the incident, the victim provided a Lewistown male with four checks for the purpose of buying vehicle parts to repair his vehicle. However, the male allegedly wrote out the checks for other personal reasons, deceiving the victim out of $607.32. Also, he didn’t buy any parts or perform any work on the victim’s vehicle, state police said. State police are continuing their investigation of the incident at this time.
State police at Philipsburg
- On June 14 state police were dispatched to an Orchard Road residence in Halfmoon Township for a reported computer hacking incident. Upon arrival state police determined that the victim had received an e-mail from a family member, which involved the suspect, and she felt the suspect was behind it. State police are continuing their investigation of the incident at this time.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police reported the alleged theft of multiple dirt bikes that occurred Monday on Route 36 in Bell Township. The stolen dirt bikes were a 2006 Kawasaki KX65, green and white; a 1998 Honda CR250, red, white and blue; and a 1994 Honda CR250, red and white. - State police reported the alleged theft of a dirt bike that occurred Monday on Pike Road in Henderson Township. The stolen dirt bike was a 2006 Yamaha YZ 450F; it is black with yellow spokes. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Punxsutawney at 814-938-0510.
- State police reported the alleged theft of a four-wheeler that occurred Tuesday on Harper Road in Perry Township. The four-wheeler was a 2003 Honda 300EX; it was yellow with black accents and yellow flames near the handle bars. - State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred Wednesday on Markton Road in Knox Township. During the incident, a Brookville male engaged in a verbal altercation with his brother. He was mad but didn’t want to punch his brother, so he allegedly punched his brother’s girlfriend instead. State police cited the male for the incident.
State police at Ridgway
- Joseph A. Chicola, 67, of St. Marys has been charged with two counts of license to engage in business. He allegedly engaged in business as a dealer without securing the proper license. He purchased, sold or exchanged more than four vehicles in the calendar year of 2014, state police said. Both counts are summary offenses with a $1,000 fine for each. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to Capricorn Drive for a report about a suspicious male in the area. Upon arrival police found a male lying on a porch. He appeared to be intoxicated and when police attempted to wake him, the male refused to obey orders and had to be restrained.
- Police were called to South Fourth Street for a vehicle-versus-pedestrian accident. The child was injured, police said, and the accident remains under investigation at this time.
- Police responded to a loose dog in the area of Turnpike Avenue.
- Police responded to East Market Street where a vehicle struck a wall head-on. Upon arrival police found the male to be intoxicated, and he was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained in the accident. Charges for DUI are pending on the male, police said.
- Police responded to West Locust Street for a report about wires down. Upon arrival police determined that they were cable wires.
- Police responded to Bigler Avenue for a report about a tractor-trailer that had lost a wheel. It had come off the truck, striking a nearby building and causing a large hole. Police were able to locate the truck at a local business.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about wires down in the area of Mill Road.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment in the area of Good Street.
- Police received a report about an abandoned vehicle in the area of Montgomery Run Road.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of theft that occurred at the Lawrence Park Village.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of theft that occurred at the Economy Inn.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of trespass along Carbon Mine Road.
- Police received information on a wanted person.
- Police received a report about damage to property in the area of Mill Road.
- Police responded to a motor vehicle accident in the area of South Second Street. One vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
- Police received a report about a traffic violation on the Glen Richey Highway.
Decatur Township
- Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Route 322 in front of Pizza Hut. Further, a vehicle pulled out onto the roadway and into a path of another, which caused a collision. No injuries were reported as a result, police said.
- Police received a report about possible fraudulent activity while a resident received a credit card in the mail. However, they did not apply for the credit card, police said.
- Police removed a traffic hazard from the roadway in the area of Scotch Hollow and Reams roads.
- Police were stopped by a resident in Houtzdale and advised that kids were throwing water balloons at cars as they traveled down the roadway. Police located the kids and instructed them to stop their actions.
- Police were contacted by a Houtzdale resident who related that someone had cut down his Donald Trump campaign sign.
- Police responded to a Decatur Township residence for an unruly 7-year-old female. Crisis social workers arrived as a result and police cleared the scene.
- Police were contacted about a reported hit-and-run at the Houtzdale Moose.
