Melessa A. “Lessa” Casteel, 54, of Treasure Lake, DuBois, died Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Penn Highlands DuBois surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 10, 1962 in Orlando, Fla., she was the daughter of Daniel M. Maslona of Murrells Inlet, SC and the late Delores (Wenix) Maslona. She joined her in heaven, as her mother died one month prior, on June 24, 2016.
On Oct. 29, 1988, she married Scott B. Casteel. He survives.
She was the office manager at Casteel Chiropractic Center in DuBois for many years.
As many know, she loved the DuBois area and the people who lived in it. She was actively involved in numerous organizations and activities in an attempt to make our community a better place to live.
She lit up any room she entered. Her infectious smile, her outgoing personality and caring ways made you feel loved, welcome and important. She not only will be missed by her loving family and friends, she will also be missed by everyone she met.
In addition to her husband, Scott, she is survived by her children, Palmer S. Casteel and Chloe A. Casteel; a brother, Michael Maslona and his wife, Tracy of Maryville, Tenn.; a sister, Micky Bubnik and her husband, Dan of DuBois; and cherished nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dog, “Jazzy.”
There will be no public visitation.
A private funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 30 at the Treasure Lake Church with Pastor Dick Whitaker officiating.
Her friends and family are invited for a celebration of her life at the DuBois Country Club on Saturday, July 30, between the hours of 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Although flowers are appreciated, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in the DuBois area.
