Construction to Continue on Clearfield County Bridge Project

Bridge to be replaced as part of Public-Private Partnership

BRADY TOWNSHIP – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project continues in Clearfield County in July with the reconstruction of a bridge in Brady Township.

Replacing the bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Clearfield County’s structurally deficient list.

The state-owned bridge (JV045) is located on Route 3009 (McGees Mill Road), spanning the East Branch of Mahoning Creek, two-miles southeast of Troutville.

Construction is expected to start during the week of July 25, with the closure of the bridge. During construction, drivers will be directed to a detour in Clearfield and Jefferson counties.

Drivers will follow Route 3028 (Clover Run Road) in Clearfield County, then enter Jefferson County to use Route 2004 (Clover Run Road), Route 2007 (Pleasant Hill Road), Route 36 (Colonel Drake Highway), Route 2003 (Mill Road), Route 119 (Buffalo Pittsburgh Highway) and Route 410 (Main Street) which returns drivers to Clearfield County. Work is expected to be complete by late August.

In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.

This bridge replacement is part of the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, a Public-Private Partnership (P3) between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners (PWKP) under which PWKP will finance, design, replace and maintain the bridges for 25 years. The P3 approach will allow PennDOT to replace the bridges more quickly while achieving significant savings and minimizing impact on motorists.
