The GANT weekly reload gives readers a look back upon the most noteworthy stories of their work week.  It contains the big headlines, as well as a few stories you might have missed. It might even include a story or two of the lighter side.

The GANT reload will be posted each weekend for your perusal. For most part, the reload will be filled with local headlines, but every now and again, a state, world or national story will make the list.

CAPTURED: Wanted Fugitive, Justin Craig, Taken into Custody

CLEARFIELD – A fugitive from justice, Justin Earl Craig, 30, of Dubois has been taken into custody by Lawrence Township police after nearly 47 days on the run.

New Historical Marker Commemorates Hoyt, a Patriot of the American Revolution

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Historical Society recently placed a new roadside historical marker in Penfield, Huston Township, commemorating the life of Catherine R. Hoyt, a patriot of the American Revolution.  She came to live with her children in Huston Township and died in this county.

Woman Accused of Stealing More Than $5K from Employer Waives Hearing

DUBOIS – A DuBois woman who allegedly stole more than $5,000 from her employer waived her right to a preliminary hearing Friday during centralized court.

Clearfield to Host Potter Baseball Team Day

CLEARFIELD – A Potter Baseball Team Day will take place in Clearfield on July 13 through the efforts of the Potter Baseball Traveling Team, Clearfield Baseball Association, Joseph & Shaw Public Library and a partnership with the Clearfield Revitalization Corp., (CRC).

DUBOIS – A DuBois man accused of breaking into a Sandy Township residence and stealing several firearms waived his right to a preliminary hearing Friday during centralized court.

CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township Supervisors passed two resolutions at last night’s meeting regarding alleys and private driveways and also regarding disabled persons serving in the fire departments.

CLEARFIELD – A fugitive wanted by multiple police agencies while on the run for 47 days is now in custody and facing burglary charges, according to court paperwork filed through Magisterial District Judge Richard Ireland’s office.

Construction to Begin on Rush Twp. Bridge Project

RUSH TOWNSHIP – PennDOT has announced that construction will begin later this month on a project to replace the Casanova Road Bridge as part of the Department’s public-private partnership to replace 558 bridges.
