Eleanore Louise Nelson, 89, of DuBois died Friday, July 8, 2016 at Christ the King Manor.
Born June 11, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Albina (Bills) Bruzga.
On Jan. 31, 1949, she married James L. Nelson. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1994.
She, along with her husband, was the owner/operator of the Nelson’s Grocery Store for 32 years. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in DuBois.
She is survived by four sisters, Vivian DeClerico of Spring Lakes, NJ, Irene Blakney of DuBois, Sister Kathleen Bruzga of Syracuse, NY and Betty Cessna of Linden, NY. She is also survived by her grandson, Jason Garthwaite and his wife, Nichole of DuBois and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie Garthwaite; two sisters, Evelyn Felter and Jean Larson; and two brothers, Francis and Vincent Bruzga.
There will be no public visitation.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home with Pastor John Miller officiating.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
Memorials may be placed with the charity of the donor’s choice.
