VCCCLEARFIELD – Staff members at Visit Clearfield County (VCC) have released their listing of weekly events.

Ritz Theater, downtown Clearfield

Monday-Sunday

The theater’s lobby opens at 6:30 p.m. You can grab some popcorn, even if you cannot attend the movie showings. For movies and show times, please call 814-765-5835. Prices are $6 for adults and $4 for children (12 years and under) and senior citizens (60 years and older).

Super 322 Drive-In

July 7-10

The box office at the Super 322 Drive-In will open at 7 p.m. with the show beginning at 9 p.m. The box office accepts cash only. This week’s double feature will be The Secret Life of Pets (PG) and Warcraft (PG13)

Folktales from Around the World, Children’s Workshop 

Reitz Theater

The Paul G Reitz Theater Children’s Workshop presents Folktales from Around the World. It is a showcase of stories from every continent presented in play format by our students. It is student written, produced and performed. You’ll enjoy the stories and the shout out to the wonderful variety that is in our world’s people groups. Tickets are $7 and can be purchased at Kohlhepp True Value, online at reitztheater.com or at the box office.

Fireman’s Fair

Osceola Mills

The annual fireman’s fair will be held July 3-9 in Osceola Mills. It is hosted by the Columbia Fire Department. Festival events include a car show and live music along with vendors, food and more.  For more information, visit the event Facebook page.

Corner Concert

Downtown Clearfield

Classic acoustic rock trio, “Touch of Grey,” will perform at the next Corner Concert on Friday, July 8.

Concerts take place every Friday night in Shaw Park at the corner of East Market and Front streets in downtown Clearfield.

Donations will be accepted for Susquehanna River Arts Center (SRAC). They will help with the goal of establishing a visual arts education and exhibit center in Clearfield.

Organizers of the Corner Concert Series appreciate all who attend and give toward the arts and music in the local area.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and sing along to their favorite songs with “Touch of Grey” when music starts at 7 p.m.

Souders Trail

Join us for a peaceful afternoon walk along the Souders Trail. Participants will learn about the history of the park as we look for remnants of the lumber era and signs of local wildlife. Please wear appropriate footwear.

Do you know that many leading conservationists came from right here in PA? You may be surprised to learn how the lives of these visionaries have affected so many. Could you be the next conservation hero?

Making Striders

Come to the Campground Amphitheater to create a water strider (craft). Learn how they are able to literally “walk on water” (the trick is in the feet).

Elks High Country Arts Fair

S.B. Elliott State Park

The 28th High Country Arts & Craft Fair will be held Sunday, July 10 from 10 a.m. – 5.pm. at S.B. Elliott State Park, a half-mile from Interstate 80 exit 111 on Route 153.

There will be 140 vendors offering hand-crafted wares and collectibles. Musicians and other entertainers will perform throughout the day.

Entertainment will include Kreative Kreations, which has a “Kreate-A-Friend activity,” Brewhouse Boys and Megan McGarry.

Also, chicken barbecue dinners, which will be prepared by the Clearfield Elks, will be available at a cost of $9.

Dinner tickets can be purchased in advance at the Elks Lodge through Saturday or on Sunday at the event. Many other food items will also be sold at the site.

Because the event is held on publicly-owned state park grounds, all of the proceeds are passed on to the benefit of about two-dozen local charities and organizations.

While the dinners and other food items are offered for sale, admission, shuttle service from the parking lots and the entertainment are all free of charge.

Curwensville Days

All About Fishers

Originally found in Penn’s Woods, the fisher has had a long journey to re-establishing itself in today’s forest. Learn more about this fur-bearing predator and about conservation efforts that have led to seeing them here again.

Tea and Talk

Bring your own cup or mug (for hot beverages) and try some sweet fern/mountain mint tea grown right here in the park. Talk subjects are always open for discussion … come with some idea of what you’d like to know more about, learn, or share. Sunday evening Tea and Talk has been going on for many years; come be a part of the tradition.

You can enjoy “Country Pride” – July 14, “Cross Fire” – July 21, “Deacons of Dixieland” – July 28, “Clearfield Community Band” – Aug. 4, and “Sharptones” – Aug. 18. Aug. 11 and Aug. 25 are to be announced. Please bring your own chair and some bleacher seating is available for approximately 100 people. In case of inclement weather, concerts will try to be rescheduled.
