Corman Announces State Grants for Local Projects

HARRISBURG – Eight organizations and municipalities in the 34th Senatorial District have been awarded more than $6.9 million in state funding for projects that will provide new recreation opportunities for area residents and protect the environment, Senator Jake Corman announced Thursday.

Corman said the grants and loans were awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA). The projects approved for funding are a part of three different programs that are administered by the CFA, including the Multimodal Transportation Fund Program, Alternative and Clean Energy Program, and Greenways Trails & Recreation Program.

“Our region will benefit from this much-needed state funding for important public improvements to better serve area residents and businesses,” Stefano said. “These local projects will contribute to our local economy and improve the quality of life for those who live here.”

Projects that have received funding include:

State College Area School District, State College 

Borough of State College, State College 

Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society, State College

Reinford Farms Inc, Mifflintown 

Myron Gehman, Milfflintown

Mifflin County Industrial Development Corporation PA, Lewistown

Mifflin County, Lewistown

Centre Hall Borough, Centre Hall
