Elizabeth M. ‘Libby’ Zimmerman, 100, of Clearfield died Sunday, July 3, 2016 at the Penn Highlands Clearfield.
She was born May 11, 1916 in Hitchins, Ky., a daughter of the late John W. and Mable (Ellis) Miller.
Mrs. Zimmerman was employed as a sales associate and buyer for Leitzinger’s Department Store for 50 years.
She was member of the West Side United Methodist Church, Clearfield, and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Zimmerman found it a great ministry to give a blue bird to anyone with whom she came in contact if she felt it could brighten their day.
She is survived by three children, Kathleen Edler and her husband, William of Canonsburg, Robert Zimmerman and his wife, Diane of Superior, Wis., and James Zimmerman and his wife, Janice of Clearfield.
She is also survived by five grandchildren, David Edler and his wife, Shelly, Joshua Zimmerman and his wife, Leslie, Jared Zimmerman and his wife, Shea, Robert Zimmerman and his wife, Terri and Angela McCoy and her husband, Craig; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Don Miller of New Jersey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Zimmerman, to whom she was wed Oct. 26, 1937 in Shamokin. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Jessie Butler, Ann Peoples and Jane Duckett and three brothers, Richard, Jack and William Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Thomas Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
