Stella I. Conaway, 97, of Clearfield died Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
She was born March 4, 1919, a daughter of the late Levi and Gussie (Hitchings) Ardery.
Mrs. Conaway was a homemaker. She was a very good cook and was especially known for her homemade buns.
She is survived by three children, Judith King and her husband, Harry of Luthersburg, Ira Neal Conaway and his wife, Margaret of Clearfield and Dennis Conaway and his wife, Mary Beth of Shippenville; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Conaway, on April 3, 1988 and to whom she was wed Sept. 21, 1939 in Wallaceton.
She was also preceded in death by daughter, Janet Graham; a son, Thomas Conaway; a granddaughter, Tracey Graham; a grandson, Thomas Neal Graham; sisters, Alberta Woods, Alice Gogley and Anna Ruth Hess and brothers, Glenn, James, Kenneth and Russell Ardery. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
