Willard F. Dominick, 96, of Clearfield died Thursday, June 16, 2016 at his home.

He was born April 3, 1920 in Bolivar, Pa., the son of Luigi De Amicis and Carina (DeRugeris) Dominick.

In 1946, he moved to Clearfield to serve as an art educator and district art supervisor for 36 years. In 1947, he married Caroline McCunn.

Earning Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in art education at Indiana and Penn State universities, he continued in his creative endeavors by exhibiting his works locally, nationally and internationally until his death.

He demonstrated his devotion to his community by active involvement in the Presbyterian Church of Clearfield, Susquehanna River Art Center (SRAC), Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre, Shaw Public Library, Salvation Army, Clearfield Historical Society, PA Watercolor Society, Allied Artists of America and numerous other charitable, professional and service organizations.

Mr. Dominick served in the U.S. Army in South Pacific jungle warfare in World War II from 1942-1946 and kept extensive pictorial journals of the experience. He donated this valuable collection to the Army Heritage Education Center and Museum in Carlisle, Pa.

He is survived by his partner, Beverly Owens; sister, Ann Bechtold; daughters, Susan Mussoline and Kathryn Marino; grandchildren, Christine A. Mussoline, Gina Jantzen, David Marino, Jonathan Marino; and great-grandson, Parker Jantzen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Caroline; and his siblings, Anthony Dominick and Louise Peer.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at the Clearfield Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Hopper officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Indiana, Pa.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield.
