Robert LeRoy Michaels, 78, of Glen Richey died Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Ridgeview HealthCare and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness.

Born March 11, 1938 in Lumber City, he was the son of Howard and Vivian (Ramaley) Michaels.

Mr. Michaels was a tool and die maker having first worked for Harbison-Walker Refractories until their plant closing. He then had worked for FCI/DuPont/Berg Electronics in Clearfield until his retirement.

Mr. Michaels was a member of the Glen Richey Sportsmen’s Club. He was also a former member of the Old Town Road Softball League.

He enjoyed playing golf and making and fixing golf clubs.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and completely enjoyed the outdoors.

On Aug. 22, 1959, he wed the former Beverly Ann Burnett, who preceded him in death on Dec. 26, 2015.  He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Willard J. “Jim” Michaels and John “Jack” Michaels.

Surviving are three children, Robert S. Michaels and his wife, Kimberly of Clearfield and Michele L. Clark and her husband, David and Heather M. Condon and her husband, Mark, both of Curwensville.

Also surviving are five grandchildren, Seth Michaels and Sara Tubbs and her husband, Robbie, both of Clearfield, Justine Clark and wife Carrie of Mount Lebanon and Hannah and Scott Condon of Curwensville and five brothers and sisters, Wallace Michaels and his wife, Gaye of Orchid Park, NY, Dorce Michaels and his wife, Carole and Betty Test and her husband, J. Duane, both of Curwensville, Gary Michaels and his wife, Janet of Grampian and Sally Barrett and her husband, Alvin of Clearfield.

Funeral services for Mr. Michaels will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Curwensville Alliance Church, with the Rev. Stephen Shields officiating.  Burial will be in the Pine Grove Bethel Cemetery in Glen Richey.

Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville and from 10 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

The family suggests contributions be made to either DuBois Hospice 100 Hospital Ave. DuBois, PA 15801, or the American Cancer Society 26 S. Second St., Clearfield, PA  16830.
