CLEARFIELD – A DuBois man accused of raping a mentally-challenged boy pleaded guilty Friday in Clearfield County Court.

Chris Lorene Turner, 52, an inmate of the jail, pleaded guilty to seven counts each of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and a related sex charge.

He was sentenced to a total of 14 to 28 years in state prison. In a second case, he pleaded guilty to failure to comply with (Megan’s Law) registration requirements and was given a concurrent sentence of seven to 14 years in state prison, according to court documents.

Turner was previously convicted of criminal sexual misconduct with a minor in South Carolina in 1988, according to the national Megan’s Law Web site.

The latest charges stem from incidents in Huston Township between February of 2013 and February of 2014.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Clearfield County Youth & Family Services reported that the victim disclosed to them that he was abused as a child.

He said he was first abused by the defendant when he was five years old and he went into treatment at age 10. The last time Turner sexually abused him was when he was 14 years old and he brought a gun to silence him.

The victim said he told his grandmother what was happening, but she didn’t believe him. She felt he was lying because he has a low IQ.

Police interviewed Turner Nov. 24 at the jail. He related that in February of 2013 he performed oral sex on the victim who was then 14 years old. He admitted it occurred five times on five, separate days. He stated the one of these times he had anal sex with him.
