Eleanor ‘Pauline’ Bergey, 83, of Clearfield died Monday, June 13, 2016 at the Ridgeview Eldercare and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
She was born Sept. 6, 1932 in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Thomas and Esther (Rothrock) Dunkle.
Mrs. Bergey was employed by Consolidated Bowling Corp. of Niagara Falls, NY for 17 years. She will be remembered for her baking skills and will be missed by her dog, Max.
She attended the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Clearfield, and the Philipsburg Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by a daughter, Anne Jean Wagoner of Clearfield and three grandchildren, John Francis Wagoner, Eric Paul Wagoner and his wife, Jessica and Autumn Jean Wagoner and her companion, Mike Norris.
She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Shaylee Wagoner and Phillip J. Peters; three sisters, Elizabeth Williams of Tyrone, Joan Murray of Red Hook, NY and Deborah Dunkle of Red Hook, NY; two brothers, James Dunkle and his wife, OraBelle and William Dunkle and his wife Candy, all of Morrisdale; and a sister-in-law, Viola Hubler of Philipsburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burton F. Bergey, on Feb. 11, 2007 and to whom she was wed March 6, 1954 in Niagara Falls, NY; two sons, John and Matthew Bergey; a sister, Beverly Kramer; and a brother, Robert Dunkle.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Frenchville.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
