Hillary Clinton’s campaign is escalating its attacks against Trump University, releasing a fake infomercial mocking Donald Trump’s controversial business venture as a scam.
The clip, released on social media Saturday afternoon, starts with a narrator sarcastically informing the viewer, “Donald Trump is world famous for making a fortune from being famous for having a fortune.”
The narrator continues by saying that anyone can be a source of Trump’s wealth with Trump University, adding that people only need to follow three steps: First, they need to sign up at Trump University, and second, they need to pay for Trump University “at the amazing price of anything you have.”
There is no step three, the narrator says, adding, “You won’t actually learn anything” at Trump University.
The video is spliced with real news footage commenting on the controversies surrounding the real-estate training courses, which have been criticized for misleading students.
“Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime chance to give your hard-earned money to an alleged billionaire,” the narrator concludes in the video.
Clinton has been attacking Trump University since her pivot to the general election. Earlier this month, the presumptive Democratic nominee said at an event in Newark, New Jersey, that Trump “is trying to scam America the way he scammed all those people at Trump University.”
The attacks Clinton unleashed against Trump reflect a belief that Trump University is a major vulnerability for the presumptive GOP nominee.
Trump said earlier this month that he wants to reopen Trump University.
