F-16 jets collide over Georgia; pilots survive

Two F-16 fighter jets collided over Georgia Tuesday night, according to the South Carolina Air National Guard.

The pilots were both able to eject safely after the crash, the Guard said in a statement.

They were performing “routine night-flying operations.”

The collision occurred over a military operating area in Georgia’s Jefferson County and there have been no reports of injuries on the ground.

The U.S. Air Force will be conducting an investigation.
