DUBOIS – Pennsylvania Game Commission officers tranquilized a black bear Thursday morning in DuBois City.

The bear was carried by eight people out of an alley and placed into a trap on a Game Commission vehicle. It was estimated to weigh about 500 pounds.

Officers removed one tooth in order to determine the age of the bear. They planned to release the bear back into the wild.

The bear was captured on West Long Avenue near Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel Inc.
