Cristiano Ronaldo limps out of Real Madrid training days before Champions League final

Brace yourself if you’re a Real Madrid fan or supporter of the Portuguese national team.

Just days before the Champions League final, Cristiano Ronaldo was pictured limping out of Real Madrid training after appearing to injure his left thigh in a challenge with captain Sergio Ramos.

Los Blancos face Madrid rival Atletico in Milan’s San Siro stadium on May 28 in a repeat of the 2014 final, with Real running out 4-1 winners on that occasion.

Ronaldo scored Real’s fourth with a penalty in the last minute after the game had gone to extra time.

The three-time World Player of the Year has been instrumental in guiding Real to the brink of ‘La Undecima’ — an 11th European Cup — top scoring with 16 goals in this season’s competition.

Real will be hoping its star man hasn’t suffered a recurrence of the thigh injury that kept him sidelined for three games in April.

Coach Zinedine Zidane withdrew Ronaldo at half time in the final La Liga game of the season in a bid to keep him injury-free ahead of the Champions League final.

Ronaldo, who scored 51 goals in all competitions this season, has also been selected to represent Portugal at Euro 2016 and the 31-year-old will be hoping to captain his country to a first major trophy when the competition kicks off on June 10.
