Esther L. Teats, 78, of Osceola Mills died Thursday, May 19, 2016 at her home.

Born Feb. 16, 1938 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Ai B. Teats Sr. and Freda A. (Smith) Teats.

She was of the United Methodist faith.  She had worked for the former Philipsburg State General Hospital as a nurse’s aide and at the Clear-Centre Community Pool.

She was a 1955 graduate of the former Cooper High School.  She was a social member of the VFW Post 5020 in Osceola Mills.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, making fudge and apple pies, embroidering and planting flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Reiter; four brothers, Graydon Teats, Melford Teats, Ai Teats Jr. and an infant brother, Paul Teats; two sisters-in-law, June Teats and Norma Teats; and a brother-in-law, Theodore Reiter.

She is survived by two daughters, Jeanne L. Callahan and her husband, James of Osceola Mills and Lisa K. Hartmann of Bordentown, NJ and two sons, Kenneth H. Teats Sr. of Philipsburg and Jeffrey M. Teats and his wife, Carla Keith of Osceola Mills.

She is also survived by two brothers, William C. Teats and his wife, Linda of Philipsburg and Gerald E. Teats and his wife, Shirley of Karthaus; five grandchildren, Jessica Lindstrom and her husband, Josh, Kenneth H. Teats Jr., Jamie Callahan, Jenna Hartmann and Khandyce English; one great-granddaughter, Hunter Lindstrom; and a daughter-in-law, Ruth Teats; special family members, Brady, Beth, Tylan, Trey and Kelcey English; and numerous nieces, nephews, step-children and step-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills, with Pastor Jennifer C. Heikes officiating.  Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.

Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Clear-Centre Community Pool in Osceola Mills, Pa., or to the Osceola Mills Community Library.
