Janice R. Mathews, 78, of Osceola Mills died Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born Jan. 27, 1938 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Clair W. and Gertrude (Sankey) Boob.
She married Edward P. Mathews on Jan. 9, 1956 in Osceola Mills. He preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 2013.
Mrs. Mathews was a member of the Centre United Methodist Church in Osceola Mills.
She was retired from the former Corning Asahi Video Products and had worked for Fullington Bus and General Cigar.
She was a 1955 graduate of the former Osceola Mills High School.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Edward M. Mathews; a grandson, Justin Myers; a sister, Maxine Brown; and three brothers, Harold, Robert and Jack Boob.
She is survived by three daughters, Kim Fyock and her husband, Robert of Smoke Run and Tina Dixon and her husband, Kevin and Tracy Remp and her husband, Ed, all of Osceola Mills; a son, Bruce Mathews and his companion, Michelle Brennan of Osceola Mills; and a brother, James Boob and his wife, Rosemary of New Jersey
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Robert, Mike and Melonie Fyock, Brian Mathews, Tyler Dixon, Macy and MaKayla Jury, Hunter, Rebecca and Logan Remp and six great-grandchildren, Katelyn Gray, Cameron, Dylan, Nathanael and Emma Fyock and Ethan Garcia.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills, with Pastor Jennifer C. Heikes officiating.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday and from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
