BRADFORD TOWNSHIP – A 16-year-old Woodland girl was flown to the Altoona Trauma Center with severe injuries after a two-vehicle collision Tuesday morning on Dale Road in Bradford Township, reported the state police at Clearfield.
According to the report, the girl was traveling west and approaching the crest of a small hill. At the same time, a vehicle operated by Howard D. Lidgett, 60, of Morrisdale was traveling east and approaching the same crest but from the opposite direction.
The girl’s vehicle was partially in the path of that operated by Lidgett, and she failed to see the oncoming vehicle. She attempted to swerve right prior to impact but was unable to avoid the collision, state police said.
Upon impact, both vehicles continued to travel in their respective directions. Both came to a rest on the berms of the roadway.
Both the girl and Lidgett were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision. Lidgett sustained minor injuries, according to the report.
