Harold Earl “Hop” Decker, 83, of Curwensville died Saturday, May 7, 2016 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born May 3, 1933, he was the son of James and Vera (Williams) Decker.

Mr. Decker was retired from the former Bayer Clothing Group (Kent’s Sportswear) of Curwensville and Clearfield as a manager after 38 years of service.  He was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran of the Korean War.

He was a Christian by faith. He was a life member of the Rescue Hose & Ladder Co. in Curwensville.

He was also a member of the Marine Corp League and a former member of the Curwensville L.O.O.M. Family Center No. 268, VFW Post No. 842 and the American Legion Post No. 505.

He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers fan and of all Penn State sports.

On March 26, 1960 in St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville, he wed the former Barbara Sass, who survives.

He is survived by three children, Robert Decker of Clymer and Susan Fulton and her husband, Bill and Brett Decker and his wife, Melanie, both of Curwensville.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, James Decker, Isaac Decker, Nichole Unch and her husband, Sam, Joe Catalano and his wife, Erin, Marissa Decker and Kevin Decker; three step-grandchildren, Brian Fulton, Aaron Fulton and Randy Fulton and his wife, Brittany; two great-grandchildren, Andrew Larson and Allie Unch; and two sisters, Betty Croll and Shirley Neeper and her husband, Oscar, both of Curwensville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Robert, Richard, James and Frank; and his sisters, Ruth and Mary.

Funeral services for Mr. Decker will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with the Rev. Stephen Shields officiating.

Burial will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde.

Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville.
