LHU Clearfield Holds Highly Successful First-ever Arts Day

CLEARFIELD – Nearly 200 Clearfield residents experienced the sounds and artworks of Arts Day at LHU Clearfield on Saturday, April 30.

Opening at 10 a.m., vendors displayed and sold their artwork, ranging in various forms from photography to mosaics and slate paintings.

Children from the community were encouraged to work with the artists at make-and-take stations, creating their own works of art in the form of jewelry, decorated gourds and more.

Students from local school districts were also encouraged to enter their pieces of art, including, drawings, ceramics and paintings for display, and to be judged during the event. Winners were provided first, second and third place ribbons.

While browsing the various talents stationed throughout Founders’ Hall on the campus of LHU Clearfield, guests were delighted with musical performances from three performing groups.

Temptation Alley and students from Guitarnia kicked off the morning, playing a variety of selections, often accompanied by vocalists in the group.
