CASD Renews Transportation Contract with Fullington

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield school board voted to renew its transportation contract with the Fullington Bus Co., during its regular meeting Monday night.

This contract will be effective for six years from 2016-17 through 2021-22. It can be terminated prior to that for cause by the district or by mutual written consent of both the district and Fullington.

According to the contract paperwork provided by the CASD, in 2016-17 the per-day rate for 35 runs is $223.54 per run. It states that two runs have a per-day rate of $210 per run and one has a per-day rate of $170 per run.

Activities will have a minimum rate per trip of $69.50 in the first year, in addition to $1.99 per mile and $14 per hour for activity lay-over.

The contract also includes a 3 percent yearly increase, beginning in 2017-18 and running through 2021-22.

Under the contract, the bus company is agreeing to provide the regular, daily school transportation, as well as that for athletic events and extracurricular activities by bus or van.

So far as the fuel allowance, the contract states that the school district will pay the Fullington Bus Company $4,500 on a monthly basis from September through June.

Fullington will pay all tax-free fuel costs up to and including $3.50 per gallon. The district will pay the bus company for all tax-free fuel costs in excess of that for fuel consumed by the district.

Board President Larry Putt thanked the Fullington Bus Co., for continuing what has been a long-term service to the CASD. He noted that the bus company can be counted on and has buses available anytime a need arises for the district.
