Butterfly Release to be Held in June

DUBOIS – Penn Highlands DuBois Hospice Program will hold its second Butterfly Release on June 4 at 2 p.m. in the DuBois City Park Edward V. Cherry Amphitheater.

Hundreds of butterflies are released at these events.  The butterflies are sponsored to honor and remember loved ones.

When released, some butterflies flutter away immediately, while many others delight the crowd by staying to rest on hands, shoulders and nearby flowers and bushes.  The event also includes inspirational readings, beautiful music and the reading of names.

It is not necessary to sponsor a butterfly to attend this special event. All are encouraged to gather at the DuBois City Park on June 4 to join the celebration of remembrance.  Anyone requiring seating should bring a lawn chair.

Butterflies are available for purchase at $25 each by logging onto www.phhealthcare.org.  Follow the banner, or look for the PHD Butterfly Release under “Events.”  A link will lead to a butterfly order form.

Please print the form, and mail it, along with a check payable to Penn Highlands DuBois, to PHD Home Health & Hospice Butterfly Release at 100 Hospital Ave., DuBois PA 15801.

Anyone needing a form may stop by the PHD Home Health & Hospice office.  For directions or more information, please call 814-375-3300.
