Obituary Notice: Kathryn (Yebernetsky) Youhon

Kathryn (Yebernetsky) Youhon, 93, of Brisbin died Monday, April 18, 2016.

Born in Madera on Jan. 11, 1923, she was the daughter of Wasco and Annie (Peslipsky) Yebernetsky.

She married Wallace R. Youhon on Nov. 7, 1942, who preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 1990.

She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Houtzdale. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Victoria No. 646 for 62 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Arlene Steele and her husband, Jeffery; her son, Lawrence and his wife, Susan; her son-in-law, James Terwilliger; her brother, John and his wife, Helen; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren with another one on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Wallace; her dear daughter, Patricia A. Terwilliger; and her loving son, James L. Youhon.  She was also preceded in death by siblings, Anna Daniel, Michael Yebernetsky, Mary Fetchu, Nancy Wasilko, Evelyn (Eva) Checkaneck, Harry Yebernetsky and Margaret Kitko.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale, with Father Marc Soloman as celebrant.

Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale.

The rosary will be recited by the Catholic Daughter of the Americas at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery, Houtzdale.
