Volunteers Sought for Great American Clean-up of Curwensville

CURWENSVILLE – The Curwensville Area Revitalization Entity (C.A.R.E.) and Curwensville Borough are launching a Great American Clean-up of Pennsylvania Community Improvement event.

Volunteers are needed to take action to clean, restore and renew Curwensville. The clean-up event is being held from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday.

Community and civic associations, schools and youth groups, families and friends, business employees, sports teams, church groups and others can organize their members and participate in the Great American Clean-up for Curwensville.

The Great American Clean-up of Pennsylvania is sponsored by Keep America Beautiful, the country’s largest community improvement program.

It engages more than 4 million volunteers and participants from more than 20,000 communities each spring from across the country to take action in their local communities to create positive change and lasting impact.

Participants are to bring garden tools to help plant flowers in the memorial planters. Safety vests, work gloves and trash bags will be provided by PennDOT.

Participants are also to bring shovels, rakes, brooms, wheelbarrows or muck buckets. Limited shovels and brooms will also be provided by organizers at the clean-up event.

Participants are asked to meet at Northwest Savings Bank in the parking lot at 9 a.m.
