Obituary Notice: Kenneth A. Levine Sr.

Kenneth A. Levine Sr., 81, of Olanta died Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Ridgeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.

Born Aug. 26, 1934, he was the son of David and Mary (Bloom) Levine.

Mr. Levine had first worked in the lumbering business and then for and retired from the former Howes Leather Co. in Curwensville.

He was a U.S. Army veteran from the Korean War era. He was also a former member of the Curwensville L.O.O.M.

In April of 1957, he wed the former Catherine L. Luzier, who preceded him in death on Aug. 20, 1988.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kenneth A. Levine Jr.; four brothers, Robert, David “Nooks,” James and William Levine; and a sister, Olga Marie Erhard.  He was the last member of his generation.

Surviving are two children, Carol Dotts and her husband, Joseph and David Levine and his wife, Jackie, both of Olanta; six grandchildren, Joseph Jr., Jason, Brandi, Chuck, Nathan and Nicole; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Levine will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with the Rev. Stephen Shields officiating. Burial will be in the Bloomington Cemetery Curwensville.

Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
