Obituary Notice: James Justin Hahn

James Justin Hahn, 60, a guest at Ridgeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Curwensville and formerly of Karthaus, went to a reunion in heaven on Monday, April 11, 2016.

Born July 29th, 1955 in Philipsburg, he was the son of Leon Hahn Sr. and Clara Mae (Rankin) Hahn.

Mr. Hahn started his working career by delivering papers and then onto working at the gas station in Karthaus.

At the age of 17, he became an oiler on River Hill’s dragline. He was a faithful hard worker for River Hill for 37 years.

His last job for River Hill was running loader. In 2011, he had to retire due to health issues.

Mr. Hahn belonged to different organizations over his lifetime. He loved to play pool and darts, but his biggest passion was watching his beloved grandsons, Gage and Gavin, play ball or just spending time with them.  They were his life.

He will be watching over his wife of 40 years, Marsha Darlene (Heichel) Hahn; a son, Stephen G. Hahn of Karthaus; a daughter, Charis D. (Hahn) Proud and her husband, Erik of Curwensville; and his two precious grandsons, Gage and Gavin Roos of Curwensville.

Three sisters will be watched over, Nancy Ennis of Osceola Mills, Sue Haynes (Bub) of Driftwood and Amy Pearsall of Philipsburg and a brother, Jefferson Hahn of Philipsburg.

Surviving are an uncle, Keith Hahn of Philipsburg; an aunt, Mary Lidgett of Morrisdale; and three sister-in-laws, who he thought of as sisters, Linda Martin (Donald) of Karthaus, Lisa Schott (Mike) of Ithaca, NY, and Missy Spangler (Gary) of Avis, Pa.

Also surviving are his two best friends, Larry (MaryAnn) Couteret of Karthaus and Lee (Missy) Meeker of Frenchville and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hahn went to meet his parents; a brother, Leon Butch Hahn; a sister, Linda Hahn; and an infant son, Leon Hahn III.

A memorial is being planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church in Karthaus; officiating will be Pastor Finney. A meal will follow at the Karthaus Fire Hall.
