George Carl Koval, 79, of Coalport died Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Promise Hospital of Fort Myers, Fla., after a brief illness.
Born Nov. 13, 1936 in Grampian, he was the son of Stephen C. and Anna (Fedroff) Kovall.
He was a U.S. Airforce veteran. He was Catholic by faith. He was also a member of various VFW and American Legion clubs.
Mr. Koval retired from Combine Insurance after 40 years of service as a salesman.
He is survived by six children, Daniel Koval and his wife, Penny, Mary Kay Vincent and Stefanie Schramm and her husband, Chris, all of Hershey; Tami Miller and her husband, Craig of Camp Hill; Greg Koval of Kansas; and Veronica Koval of Allentown.
He is survived by 11 grandchildren, Craig Miller and his wife, Anne; Megan Gelburd and her husband, Ryan; Caleb Koval; Kylee Koval; Karli Koval; Grant Koval; Nathan Vincent; Cassie Vincent; CJ Schramm; Max Schramm; and Luke Schramm.
Mr. Koval is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Lily and Addy Gelburd and Parker and Jackson Miller and three brothers and sisters, Cornelius “Connie” Kovall and his wife, Ginger of Grampian, Stephen J. Kovall and his wife, Ann of Gettysburg and Geraldine Van Hook and her husband, Eugene of Jennings, La.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Frank Kovall; and a sister, Irene Cassidy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 a.m. Thursday at the St. Bonaventure’s Roman Catholic Church of Grampian with Father Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant.
Burial will follow in the St. Bonaventure’s cemetery. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by members of the Clearfield Honor Guard.
Friends will be received from 5:15 p.m. – 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. Bonaventure’s Church, 461 Main St.., Grampian, PA 16838, or to St. Cecillia Catholic Community Church, 5632 Sunrise Dr., Fort Myers, FL 33919.
