Cora Heichel, 87, of Karthaus died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Clearfield Penn Highlands Hospital.
She was born Jan. 30, 1929, the daughter of the late Sarah Mock Lanager.
Mrs. Heichel was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Karthaus.
She was a 1948 graduate of the Cooper Township High School.
She was a life member of the Karthaus Volunteer Fire Co.
Mrs. Heichel was active with the Area Agency on Aging and Over 60’s Club and at the Karthaus Senior Center.
She was married to Larry W. Heichel. He preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 1995.
She is survived by one son, Randy Heichel of Karthaus; two grandchildren, Mandy Hile of Grampian and Jay Heichel of Clearfield; and two great-grandchildren, Alaina and Elliot Hile of Grampian.
She was the last member of her generation. In addition to her mother and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Cyrus Lanager; two step-brothers, Raymond and Emanuel Lanager; and three step-sisters, Selma Dale, Gussie Shadeck and Maude Burfield.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Karthaus, with the Rev. Matthew Finney officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery, Karthaus.
