CLEARFIELD – David Schultz Airshows LLC of Clearfield has announced additional details regarding the status of plans for the inaugural Clearfield County Air and Car Show at the Clearfield Airport on July 23.

Plans are well under way and there have been thousands of excited patrons on Facebook and Twitter looking forward to the event, according to David Schultz, owner of David Schultz Airshows LLC of Clearfield.

He stated that, “We have had numerous local and regional sponsors come on board to support this event, including CNB Bank, Lezzer Lumber, Amerigas, Clearfield Bank & Trust, Paris Cleaners and Pennsylvania Grain Products.

“Their monetary sponsorships have been a fantastic start to the fundraising for this event. We have also gained in-kind sponsorships from Advanced Disposal and Cairns Equipment.”

Schultz added that, “Our hotel partners are the Hampton Inn and Comfort Inn in the Clearfield Commerce Park. While we are deeply appreciative of these companies’ support of the event, the fact remains that we need much more in the way of monetary contributions in order to make this event a reality.

“Without additional sponsors coming on board to cover the costs of the event soon, we may have no alternative than to postpone this event to next year or later. That decision will have to be made in early May.”

According to Schultz, sponsorships are vitally important to the success of air and car show event. He said they would like to have admission prices for this event as low as possible, so that it is a low-cost entertainment event for the general public.

This way, Schultz said, the event will be affordable to everyone in the region. “The event will showcase the entire community and Clearfield County, and we are asking businesses and individuals to support the event,” he said.

“We have modified our budget numerous times, and now believe that we can do this event safely and successfully for around $50,000. Our original estimate was around $90,000.

“Our costs include for the performer fees, fuel, hotel rooms, rental cars, hospitality, insurance and support services needed at the airport in order to host a large crowd. We hope to have several thousand patrons at the Clearfield Airport.”

Businesses, individuals and organizations interested in supporting the event with in-kind contributions and monetary sponsorships are asked to contact David Schultz Airshows via e-mail at airboss@schultzairshows.com. Sponsorship prospectus can be requested via Schultz Airshows LLC.
