Karchner’s Artwork on Display, Sale at Shaw Library

CLEARFIELD – Artist Denny Karchner, formerly of Clearfield, has provided an artist proof and signed limited additions to sell in order to raise money for the Susquehanna River Art Center.

His artwork will be on display and for sale at the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Library until April 7. If you have any questions, please contact Jody Grumblatt, SRAC president, at The Liddle Gallery at 814-765-5700

Karchner’s “Western Artwork” was spawned from a deep passion for the love of pencil and paint at a very young age.

He has been producing pencils and paintings since the tender age of three years old, and after a 34-year hiatus, he has recently returned to paints.

His passion and love for “pencil and paints” are gaining him increased notoriety among museums and private collectors.

Karchner has worked closely with the Buffalo Bill Historical Center of the West in Cody, Wyo., and has had several pieces included in its annual art auctions.

He had three pieces accepted into the prestigious “Booth Western Art Museum” in Cartersville, Ga., for its permanent private collection.

In 2005, the family of the late, great Curt Gowdy commissioned Karchner to paint his portrait. It is the only one ever commissioned by the family.

In May of 2008, Karchner’s work was selected to hang in the “Plainsmen Gallery” in Clearwater, Fla.

Lastly, in 2006, Karchner was hired by Art Rooney Jr., co-owner and vice president of the 2008 NFL Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers to paint many of the current and old Steelers from the 1970’s Super Bowl teams.
