Bike rack jumper arrested at White House perimeter

A person was arrested for jumping over a White House bike rack on Tuesday afternoon, the Secret Service said, but the individual did not make it to the White House.

In a statement, the Secret Service said it detained an individual at approximately 4:35 on Tuesday after that person jumped the temporary bike rack outside the south fence of the White House.

The Secret Service did not identify the individual or specify a gender.

The person was arrested and taken into custody.

The first family is out of town for the President’s historic trip to Cuba. President Barack Obama and his family departed Cuba Tuesday evening.
