Hillary Clinton’s temporary break from the fundraising trail will come to an end this week after winning at least four out of five nominating contests Tuesday.
Amid contests across the country, the former secretary of state markedly scaled back her time on the fundraising trail. Her last fundraiser was on March 2, the day after she won seven contests on Super Tuesday.
But Clinton will headline a total of 12 fundraisers in Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, Connecticut, Washington State and California over the next eight days, while also campaigning.
After taking the day off Wednesday, Clinton will headline fundraisers in Georgia and Tennessee, including an event hosted by Sacha and Charles Robert Bone in Nashville.
Bone, a high-profile lawyer in the city, was the head of Mayor Megan Barry’s transition team. Clinton will also headline an event in Atlanta at the home of Pradeep and Ranjana Sinha.
On Friday, Clinton will head to Connecticut for an event in Litchfield County that will include speeches from Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy and Rep. Elizabeth Esty. Then Clinton will travel to western Virginia for a fundraiser hosted by John Grisham, the bestselling author and activist. Grisham also fundraised for Clinton during her 2008 campaign.
Clinton’s next stint on the fundraising trial will come next Tuesday when she headlines two events in Washington State, including an event hosted by Jeff and Susan Brotman, the founders of Costco.
Then it’s off to California, Clinton’s most profitable fundraising well. The former secretary of state will headline six fundraisers in the Golden State on next Wednesday and Thursday.
Clinton will headline an event hosted by Jerry and Michelle Kaplan in Hillsborough, California and another hosted by Lyndon Rive, the cofounder of SolarCity, in Atherton, California on Wednesday.
The former New York senator then heads to Southern California for three events on March 24, including an event in Los Angeles emceed by hip hop mogul Russell Simmons and with performances by Ben Harper and Estelle.
Chris Silbermann, the founding partner of ICM Partners, a talent and literary agency, will host another fundraiser for Clinton in Santa Monica, California.
Clinton has only headlined 22 fundraisers this quarter, well under the pace she set in 2015.
The Democratic front-runner headlined a total of 58 fundraisers in the last three months of the year, a pace identical to the 58 events she headlined in the second and third quarters of 2015.
It is unlikely Clinton will be similarly prolific this quarter.
While Clinton holds an 300-plus-delegate lead over Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, money is one area where Sanders has been able to out perform Clinton. Sanders outraised Clinton in January and February, largely buoyed by his online fundraising prowess.
