Bertha C. Conklin, 84, of Bigler died Sunday, March 13, 2016 at her residence. Born March 31, 1931 in Morrisdale, she was the daughter of the late John and Agnes Myers Marshall.
Mrs. Conklin was a hard-working wife, mother and caregiver. Her and her husband had a personal care home for 25 years, where they cared for many people throughout the years.
She was married to Charles G. Conklin on Oct. 28, 1950 at the Centre Hill United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on March 31, 2005.
She is survived by three sons, Larry G. Conklin and his wife, Mary Jane of Hamden, Conn.; Charles D. Conklin Sr. and his wife, Penny of West Decatur; and Kevin L. Conklin and his wife, Robin of Bigler.
Mrs. Conklin is also survived by a sister, Olive Scholski of Revloc, Pa., a brother, Kenneth Marshall of Morrisdale; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two infant sons, Thomas John Conklin and Danny Lynn Conklin; a great-grandson; one sister; and two brothers.
By Mrs. Conklin’s request, services will be private. There will not be any public visitation. Burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery, Morrisdale.
