State police at Clearfield
- On Friday state police conducted a routine traffic stop on Route 879 near the mall exit in Lawrence Township. During the stop, heroin paraphernalia was allegedly observed in plain view. Upon searching the vehicle, state police allegedly found two syringes, a tourniquet, empty heroin stamp bags, a metal spoon, a plastic spoon, a test tube of water and four Xanax tablets. Charges will be filed against both occupants of the vehicle, state police said.
- State police investigated a hit-and-run accident that occurred Saturday on Sportsman Road in Covington Township. The operator of a Town & Country van was backing out of a parking spot and struck a legally parked and unoccupied Dodge Ram pick-up truck. Upon impact the van’s operator fled the scene north on Sportsman Road. State police are continuing their investigation, and the van operator will be cited through the district court.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about a burglary that occurred sometime between Feb. 28 and March 4 on North 11th Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly entered the victim’s residence and removed a large sum of cash from a safe before fleeing the scene. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime Friday or Saturday on Coldspring Road in Oliver Township. During the incident, someone allegedly struck a mailbox with an unknown object. State police are continuing their investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Punxsutawney at 814-938-0510.
- State police investigated a DUI that occurred Monday on Graffius Street in Punxsutawney Borough. Further, a Punxsutawney woman was encountered during a traffic stop and allegedly determined to be driving under the influence. She was subsequently arrested for DUI, and the incident remains under investigation.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about a rape that occurred Feb. 24 at a Ridgway Township residence. Further, an Emporium man allegedly had sexual intercourse with the victim without her consent. State police are continuing the investigation at this time.
- State police received a report about an incident of simple assault/harassment that occurred Saturday on Dagus Mines Road in Fox Township. During the incident, the victim and a Dagus Mines woman allegedly engaged in a verbal argument that turned physical. Further, the woman allegedly scratched the victim about her face and then pulled her hair. The victim sustained minor injuries, according to state police. The woman was subsequently taken into custody and arraigned on charges.
- State police received a report about a theft that occurred Sunday on Mackie Drive in Fox Township. During the incident, known suspects allegedly stole prescription medications and liquor from the victim. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
Clearfield Borough
- Police had a dog turned in at the police station that was located without any tags or other identification. The dog was taken to the SPCA, police said.
- Police received a report about a male on Bigler Avenue who was allegedly abusing a dog. Police located the male and the dog and determined the complaint was unfounded.
- Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense and determined the driver allegedly had possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Police responded to a noise complaint around 1 a.m. Saturday on Dorey Street. Further, police made contact with the homeowner about the noise.
- Police received a report about an alleged disturbance on Turnpike Avenue. Police located the individuals and determined that they were arguing over a landlord-tenant issue. Police were able to get the individuals to calm down and gave advice on how to handle the problem.
- Police received a report about the alleged theft of a cell phone from a residence.
- Police received a report that an individual was having civil problems with their landlord.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of loitering and prowling at night in the Hillsdale area.
- Police responded to a commercial vehicle accident on River Road. Further, the commercial vehicle struck the bridge.
- Police assisted the fire department with a fuel spill on Industrial Park Road.
- Police received a report about an abandoned vehicle in the Montgomery Run Road area.
- Police received a report about a reckless driver in the area of the Hyde light.
- Police received a report about a possible DUI on Washington Avenue.
- Police received a report about a suspicious person in the Goshen Road area.
- Police received a report about a custody issue on Turnpike Avenue.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment and false reports in the Hillsdale area.

- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle in the Owens Road area.
- Police received a report about an alleged retail theft at the Dollar General. The suspect was apprehended and charges are to be filed, police said.
- Police responded to an alleged domestic dispute on Mapes Avenue.
- Police received information about a Megan’s Law offender who was living in the Washington Avenue area of Hyde.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment by communications that occurred in the Guinea Hill area.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of retail theft that occurred at Wal-Mart. The suspect has been identified and charges are to be filed, police said.
- Police conducted a traffic stop along Washington Avenue. During the traffic stop, police took a male into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
DuBois City
- Police were dispatched for a report about a man who was passed out inside of a vehicle Friday in a business parking lot in the 100 block of North Brady Street. Upon arrival police found a DuBois man who was allegedly highly intoxicated and who had been in and out of the business. He was also allegedly found without any pants on. Police arrested the man for public drunkenness and then released him to a family member.
- While investigating an incident Friday on Fuller Avenue, police found a wanted male, Joseph Richtarsic, 21, of DuBois. He had several warrants out of two, different counties. Richtarsic was subsequently arrested and the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office transported him to the county jail.
- Police were dispatched to a report about several people who were possibly fighting Friday in the 100 block of West Washington Avenue. Upon arrival police determined it was an argument over trash being thrown between two houses. Police managed to calm the situation and cleared without further incident.
- Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident Saturday near the intersection of West Long Avenue and South Brady Street. While en route to the scene, police were advised a male driver and a female passenger had fled the scene. Upon arrival police determined the vehicle had struck a utility pole and tree. During the investigation, a witness told police the male driver had fled carrying the front bumper of the vehicle, which was a silver 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Police were able to locate the male and female who returned to the area. Police determined the 21-year-old male was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, and he was arrested for DUI. Charges will be filed against him upon receipt of laboratory results, police said.
- Police received a report about an argument involving a man and woman Saturday in the parking lot of a business in the 100 block of West DuBois Avenue. Upon arrival police found they were arguing over child custody. Police found there weren’t any child custody papers and told the couple to handle the matter civilly.
- On Saturday police received a report about someone who allegedly smashed the windshield of a vehicle while it was parked in the first block of East Long Avenue. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about a male who was allegedly in the roadway causing a disturbance Saturday on West Long Avenue. Police determined it was the same male who had allegedly called dispatch numerous times throughout the night without any reason. Police located the DuBois male and he was taken to the Penn Highlands for an evaluation.
- Sometime overnight Sunday, someone allegedly went through mailboxes in the 300 block of Hospital Avenue. Police are continuing their investigation.
- On Sunday police received a report that someone allegedly stole a “Mongoose” bicycle from a residence in the 800 block of West Weber Avenue. Police are continuing their investigation.
- Police received a report about loud music at an apartment Sunday in the first block of North Church Street. Upon arrival police had the tenant turn the music down.
Sandy Township
- Police received a report about a vehicle with a homemade registration sticker at the Wasson Elementary School. Upon arrival officers located the vehicle and discovered the driver allegedly had a suspended license. He told police that he was in the process of buying the vehicle from another individual. Officers also allegedly found drug paraphernalia on the driver and in the vehicle. Officers impounded the vehicle due to different names being on the unfiled title and confusion regarding the sale transaction. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- Police responded to the Midway Drive area for a report about a man who was talking to himself and pulling down tree branches in the caller’s yard. Officers located the man in the DuBois Mall parking lot. He had been talking on his wireless device while pulling a dead branch out of a tree. Police handled the situation without incident.
- Police received a report about a false alarm at Lowe’s on Friday.
- Police responded to an alleged domestic dispute in Treasure Lake on Saturday. Further, a 32-year-old woman and her 30-year-old boyfriend had engaged in a verbal argument. The 30-year-old left when the woman called police. Police handled the situation without incident.
- On Saturday a 35-year-old DuBois woman alleged that something was thrown at her vehicle while she was traveling on Coral Reef Road in Treasure Lake. She told police that it broke the passenger’s side rear window of her vehicle.
- Charges are pending against a 32-year-old Philipsburg man who was allegedly discovered to be in possession of substantial amounts of controlled substances Saturday during a traffic stop. He also allegedly attempted to conceal the controlled substances from police.
- On Saturday a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Falls Creek girl hit another driven by a 32-year-old Sykesville woman while backing out of a parking space at Taco Bell. Minor damage and no injuries were reported, police said.
- Police received a report about a group of juveniles who allegedly covered a car on Atlantic Avenue with toilet paper on Sunday. However, the juveniles were gone upon police arrival.
- Police were called to Wal-Mart due to a fight in the parking lot on Sunday. Further, an 86-year-old DuBois man allegedly approached and physically harassed a 68-year-old DuBois man who was sitting in his vehicle in the fire lane. Charges were filed as a result, police said.
