The Eagles tribute to late band member Glenn Frey during the Grammys in February may have been their last performance.
Don Henley told BBC Radio 2’s Simon Mayo that he and his fellow band members had a tough time performing with Jackson Browne a month after Frey died in January at 67 following complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia.
“I very difficult and very emotional,” Henley said “We actually almost didn’t do it.”
Henley said it was probably the last time the group, known for hits such as “Hotel California” and “Take It Easy,” jams together.
“I think it was an appropriate farewell,” he said. “I don’t think you’ll see us performing again.”
The band split in 1980 and reunited in 1994 with the live album “Hell Freezes Over.”
In 1998, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in 2013 launched the History of the Eagles — Live in Concert tour to help promote a documentary of the same name.
