Police: Woman Allegedly Abducted, Sexually Assaulted in Curwensville

CURWENSVILLE – The investigation is continuing after a woman was allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted for several hours on Wednesday afternoon in Curwensville, reported Curwensville Borough police.

According to the report, the victim was allegedly abducted in the South Side area when several men approached her from behind and placed a bag over her head before forcing her into a vehicle.

The victim was allegedly tied and bound with rope and driven around while being sexually assaulted for several hours. She was also struck about her body, police said.

The victim was later allegedly ordered out of the vehicle with her bindings cut, her head covered with the bag and being gagged at her mouth. The suspects told her to get walking and then fled the area, police said.

The victim allegedly found herself in Anderson Creek in the area of Filbert Street. She made it to Fuel On, where she summoned for police assistance, according to the report.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Curwensville Borough police at 814-236-3858.

Police are particularly looking for anyone who may have observed any suspicious persons/vehicles between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the South Side area off of Susquehanna Avenue.

Also, police are seeking information about any suspicious persons/vehicles that may have been seen in the area of the old car wash on lower Filbert Street between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

State police and Lawrence Township police assisted Curwensville Borough police with the incident. Police also warn residents to keep their doors locked and to be vigilant with the increase in violent crimes in the area.
