Hillary Clinton said Thursday she is far less impressed with Donald Trump’s string of Republican primary victories than he is.
“I think he has — if you really analyze it — a pretty narrow base,” Clinton said, responding to a question from CNN at the end of a rally here. “If he gets nominated, we’re going to have a very vigorous general election if I’m the nominee.”
When asked whether the real estate mogul is yet to be defined to the type of a broader electorate that he would face in a general election, she turned and flashed a wide smile, “We’ll wait and find out.”
Clinton acknowledged Thursday that her Democratic nominating fight with Bernie Sanders could likely continue until the end of the primary calendar in June, a costly battle she said she could hardly blame her rival for waging.
“If we go to the end, we go to the end,” she said, “just as I did in 2008.”
